I'd like to say a massive thankyou to the 2s, you have made me so proud to be your captain this year, it’s an honour and I’m so proud to have continued the tradition of having such a close knit group of girls even with so many new faces. On and off the pitch you girls are fantastic and I already miss spending so much time with you all.

We are very happy with a mid table finish, securing our places in both BUCs and Saturday lea...

It’s been a fantastic first term for the twos!! Every year the 2s have a big fresh intake and this year has been no different, with 12 new members from fresh and the 3s we’ve made ourselves incredibly proud with our performances in the last 10 weeks. After a very strong trials at the start of term we have continued to improve throughout the term to finish at christmas placed highest out of all the teams in our BUCS league!

April 23, 2019

Having ended last term in 8th place in Saturday league and 6th place in BUCs, the 2s have improved on both of these, finishing in 6th and 5th place respectively.

In Saturday league, this half of the season has been really successful, with 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. We also scored 22 goals! Our last game of the season was somehow also our biggest win with a margin of 5.0. Since we were only promoted into this league at...

The 2s have had a promising start overall this year, after securing promotion in our WWHL Saturday League last season.

First of all, let's talk Saturday league. After a somewhat one-sided season last year (did you say almost undefeated?), this one has started much more competitively, with a mixed set of results from very balanced fixtures. Now that our league has 12 teams rather than the 10 we had last year, we have more fixtur...

Term 2 has been a great one for the 2nd team. Spoiler alert but we finished TOP OF THE LEAGUE in our Saturday WWHL division, with 47 points, and guaranteed ourselves promotion to Division 2.

We maintained our winning streak – only losing one match all year, which was aeons ago on the 30th September (before half of the fresh had even moved to uni). We had some emphatic scores, winning 7-0 against Birmingham Wasps and Solihull Bl...

December 28, 2017

The first half of the season has been an extremely promising one for the 2nd team, as we sit comfortably in promotion zone in our WWHL league and are mid-table for BUCS.

We have had an amazing fresher intake, with 8 fresh regularly playing for the 2s, leading to some very lengthy fresh factor performances. Our new waterbase astro has made training at 9pm on a Monday a much more exciting experience this season, and we have been...

The 2s have had a mixed season with most members of the squad experiencing at least one injury, some more severe than others. However, we haven’t let this deter us and have battled hard in our leagues, scoring a record number of goals on a Saturday and ensuring that the coveted ‘Golden stick’ award goes to our wonderful 2s captain for next year, Charlotte Lloyd. Unfortunately we will get relegated from our BUCS league but look...

The 2s fifth BUCS match of the season on 16th November saw them take on Lincoln 1s, a mere week after losing to them 4-0 in a cup match. However, this time the match was on home turf and the team was more determined than ever. After dropping behind 1-0 the girls managed to equalise, before falling behind once again. Determination, adrenaline and anger kicked in - we were determined not to lose again this week. Finally a second...

October 7, 2016

Being our last BUCS match of the season this was always going to be an emotional one. Luckily, Stafford were bottom of the league which gave us a clear chance to shine. After an hour and a half lying in the sun watching the UWMHC 3rd XI we were slightly lacking the enthusiasm to get up and play ourselves.  After a rocky start, on a horrible pitch, we managed to secure a 1-0 lead by half time off a short corner. Spurre...
