Charities Term One Round Up
This year, UWLHC voted for Coventry Haven Women’s Aid as our local charity and Crohn’s and Colitis UK as our national charity.
Despite lockdowns and many self isolation periods, UWLHC has still managed to stay very active in the charity department this term !!
In Week 5 our members, with the help of UWMHC, contributed to a very successful Can Drive. Several fattt bags were filled at the sidelines of the UWHC club day to help those struggling in the local area. Massive thank you to everyone that donated!!
Unfortunately a Movember night out wasn’t a possibility this year, so instead UWLHC took up running (again) to participate in the Move for Movember 60K challenge. Nearly 40 members, including many of our keen new freshies, ran at least 60K over November for the 60 men we lose to suicide every hour around the world. We ran a massive total of 2271.69km (the distance from Leam to Cairo apparently) and raised a mental £3662!! Big up Fresher Sophie for being our highest raiser and super fun 4th years Rose and Chong for racking up some mad mileage!! Thank you to everyone that took part and donated!!
And finally to show our support for Chrons and Colitis awareness week, we all wore purple to our last training session of the year!!
Very excited to see what we get up to next term :)
